Dr. John Zavaro
Dr. John Zavaro received his B.S. from the University of Kentucky in 1998 and his DVM from Auburn University in 2003. He started Healthy Petz in January of 2008. Dr. Zavaro is a member of the Tennessee Veterinary Medical Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association.
Dr. Zavaro enjoys raising cattle and riding horses on his farm with his wife,daughter and son. His extended family include his cat named Catfish, a French Bulldog named Soleil, three golden retrievers named Kula, Flair, and Gauge. As you can see, the love for animals is deeply woven into his professional, family life and recreation.
Dr. Carrie Grace
Dr. Carrie Grace performed her undergraduate studies at Murray State University and graduated from Auburn University, College of Veterinary Medicine in 2000. Dr. Grace received her certification in Veterinary Acupuncture from the Chi Institute in 2006.
Dr. Grace enjoys spending family time with her husband and two boys, as well as gardening, fishing and reading as time allows. Dr Grace has lived in the Spring Hill community for 12 years and attends Thompson Station Church. Her ‘Fur Children’ consist of her Corgis, Birdee and Rumple and her cats, Dillon and Smelly Cat.
Dr. Anne Rigsby
Dr. Anne Rigsby received her B.S. in Animal Science in 2002 and her DVM in 2006, both from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. She practiced for 9 years in Nashville before coming to Healthy Petz in 2016. She enjoys treating both companion animals as well as exotic pets.
Dr. Rigsby and her family love the outdoors, traveling, and spending time with their two dogs Saber the English Mastiff and Banks the whippet mix.
Dr. Jacqueline Fountain
Dr. Fountain was born and raised in Georgia. and earned her Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from Tulane University. After falling in love with New Orleans (and the New Orleans Saints), she started veterinary school at St. Georges University on the south Caribbean island of Grenada. Dr. Fountain worked hard and was able to transfer into her second year at Oklahoma State Center of Veterinary Sciences. Here, she found her love for cowgirl boots and country music. After graduation, she completed and internship and practiced in Los Angeles, CA. Fate would bring her to Nashville to visit a friend and go to a conference where she saw that Healthy Petz was looking for a new doctor. Dr. Fountain met the team and decided to pack her bags and head to Tennessee! Her interests include soft tissue surgery, radiology, and preventative medicine.
She lives in Nashville with her partner Ryan and her kitty partner in crime Layla Danger Mittens. Outside of work, Dr. Fountain loves the outdoors, yoga, metal work, and travel.
Dr. Glenis Moore
Anastasia, Dr. John Zavaro’s sister, has been the practice manager since Healthy Petz opened in January 2008. She grew up in the KY and TN area and also lived in Los Angeles for 14 years pursing her love of acting. Besides interests in horseback riding and music, Anastasia is often seen on stage in local theatre productions or behind the scenes directing or producing community theatre. She lives on 15 acres with her husband and their three cats.
I am a licensed Veterinary Technician. I graduated from Columbia State Community College in 2010 with an Associates of Applied Sciences in Veterinary Technology. I have been working in the veterinary field for about 7 years in the Middle Tennessee area. I started working at Healthy Petz in the Spring of 2013. I married my best friend in 2010 and he is the love of my life. I have three fur babies and one wonderful human baby. I enjoy spending time reading and loving on my puppies.
My name is Nikki Wilshire. I live in Columbia, Tennessee with my husband Ben. We have three beautiful daughters Averee and Addilyn and Aubrey. I graduated as a Veterinary Technician from Columbia State in 2013. I worked in emergency for one year then started working in a regular clinic in 2014. I have 2 dogs Felix and Brinley, 4 cats and a snake named Blaine. I enjoy working as a technician here at Healthy Petz, it is truly a dream job to love and care for all animals.
I am a Veterinary Technician. I graduated from Columbia State Community College in 2011 with an Associates of Applied Sciences in Veterinary Technology. I got my first veterinary job in 2011 and joined the Healthy Petz family in July of 2014. I have three fur babies at home, 2 dogs and a cat. I look forward to seeing you and your babies.
Hey! My name is Jessica and I graduated from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville with a Bachelors of Science in Animal Science in 2012. I’ve worked in the veterinary field since graduation in small animal clinics locally and joined the Healthy Petz family in March of 2015. My pet family includes 2 sweet beagle mixes: Bonnie and Blanche, and my crazy kitties: Savannah, and Neville. I enjoy spending time on the family farm with my husband, reading, and game nights.
I’ve been with Healthy Petz since January of 2012 as a Vet Tech. I have two wonderful dogs, Chuck and Layla, and a crazy cat, Minnie Mouse. I live in Fairview with my husband, Josh and my stepson, Parker. It is a long drive, but it is worth it! I absolutely love working with your babies everyday! In my spare time I am on the board of the Fairview Community Theater.
Hi, my name is Britney. I moved from Memphis to Columbia with my husband in January 2016. I have been at Healthy Petz since February 2016, but have worked in the field since 2011. I enjoy working with all kinds of animals, including pocket pets. I will graduate from MTSU with my Bachelors in Animal Science Fall of 2018. I have a sweet pup named Bonnie and several crazy chickens.
My name is Rachel and I am a licensed veterinary technician. Born and raised in Florida, my husband and I moved to Tennessee in 2015 for work and a change in scenery (I love the fall and winter seasons here!). I attended St. Petersburg College, in Florida, where I obtained my degree in Veterinary Technology. I have worked at Healthy Petz since moving to TN and thoroughly enjoy my job. My husband and I have a full house with 1 human child and 4 furbabies: a lab mix named Jake, 2 cats: Blu and Sebastian, and a sassy parrot named Scooter.
My name is Lexi and I have been a technician here since January 2017. I have a degree in Veterinary Technology from Columbia State and love working with all kinds of animals. I am from Savannah, Georgia but now live in Columbia with my husband, Austin. We have 2 dogs: Sophie & Holly, 3 cats: Winston, Cecil & Opie, and a bunny named Ella. In our free time we love to hike with the dogs and nap.
Hey y’all! My name is Jessica Baird and I was born and raised in Austin, Texas. I moved to Tennessee about three years ago and absolutely LOVE working here at Healthy Petz and helping you with your pets. My undergraduate degree was in Biology with a minor in Chemistry and I have been working in the veterinary field since I was 18 years old. In my spare time I’m usually hiking, playing some sand volleyball or hanging out with family and friends.
Hi, My name is Ashton and I have been working at Healthy Petz since 2016. I graduated from MTSU with a Bachelors degree in Business Management in 2014. I live in Chapel Hill with my boyfriend and our 4 fur babies ; Jack, Penny, Monster and Roko. I am hoping to add a kitten to my animal family soon. 🙂 My favorite hobbies include fishing , canoeing, going to the lake, riding our razor, and spending time with all my pups! Go Vols!!!!
Tatiana has been working in the Veterinarian field since 2004. Originally from Los Angeles, Tatiana grew up having a passion for animals. In 2010, she moved to Nashville with her family. If shes not at work, you can find her at Kroger, Target, or driving down HWY 31 taking one of her kids to ballet, piano, or wresting practice.
I am originally from Cleveland, Mississippi, but moved to Tennessee around 2004. I currently live in Columbia, TN. I began working as a receptionist at Healthy Petz in December of 2017. I have two precious fur babies; a very feisty tabby kitty named Simba, and the sweetest little Pit Bull named Archie. They are my heart and soul. I love meeting all the sweet babies that come through Healthy Petz and would be happy to help you with your fur babies any way I can.
I have been working at Healthy Petz as a receptionist since April of 2018. I have been working in the veterinary field since 2017. I was born and raised in Franklin, Tn and still reside here with my husband, 2 dogs Max and Gracie, 4 goats Oakley, Jax, Chance and Phoebe, and 2 horses Dixie and Spirit. When I’m not working I enjoy spending time with all of my animals.
